Scope of Service

A full-spectrum research service system.

Designed around AI4X, the center builds a comprehensive research service system through vertical technical depth and horizontal disciplinary integration. Services roll out in phases from August 1, 2026; each item below is labeled with its current status.

◦ Service 1 Policies in development

Frontier AI core R&D & computing support

Computing specifications, eligibility, and scheduling rules will be announced once formally confirmed.

  • Key technologies: generative AI, agentic AI, explainable AI (XAI), and privacy-preserving federated learning.
  • Campus computing scheduling: coordinate HPC resources with an automated scheduling system for large-scale training and inference.
  • AI infrastructure: maintain AutoML platforms and data-labeling tools to lower the barrier for non-CS researchers.

AI4X cross-domain integration & matchmaking

Research matchmaking opens August 2026; data-governance consultation is initially by appointment. Matters involving research ethics or legal review still follow the university’s formal procedures.

  • Project matchmaking: an "AI consultation clinic" pairing ECE experts with faculty across all colleges to co-propose national grants.
  • Domain-specific models: dedicated models such as smart legal retrieval, medical image reading, and digital-humanities analysis.
  • Data governance & feature engineering: de-identification, cleaning, and standardization to build a reusable academic database.

Co-creation, tech transfer & incubation

The center first conducts a needs interview, then matches suitable campus teams to the research problem.

  • Corporate joint labs: space and staffing for "real problems, real solutions" projects that aid local digital transformation.
  • Value-add & business validation: prototyping and field PoC to shorten the path to industry.
  • AI start-up incubation: technical mentoring and angel-investment matchmaking for spin-offs.

Talent cultivation & governance research

  • AI4X micro-programs: campus-wide "AI + profession" dual-expertise education.
  • AI ethics & legal advisory: an AI ethics review mechanism and compliance assessment.
  • International exchange: summits, hackathons, and participation in global open-source communities.
